Government Incentivised Schemes
The Government regularly uses the tax legislation to encourage business investment in projects that it thinks worthwhile, such as the British Film industry, eco-industries, and urban regeneration of parts of the country.
Individuals may receive an element of tax relief for the cost of the investment or some other such incentive as to make the investment more palatable to the private investor.
This is income tax mitigation, but for the most part, it should not be viewed as contentious as long as the investor has a commercial reason for the investment, and that the investment is not structured as to be risk free.
A number of firms specialise in putting together investment portfolios that utilise these reliefs.
The relevant point is that these schemes are primarily investment related. As an unregulated business, we do not offer advice on these types of strategy.
However, we have worked with a number of firms that have specialist “Structured Products” advisors who evaluate each product from an investment perspective.
We would be happy to introduce you to these firms should you so wish.
